  6. A program identifier database package that provides a logical extension to
  7. "ctags".  The ID facility stores the locations for all uses of identifers,
  8. preprocessor names, and numbers (in decimal, octal, or hex).
  9.  
  10. This is an update to the original Amiga port done by Randell Jesup, it
  11. adds a few more Amiga specific enhancements (wildcard pattern support,
  12. pure executables, etc.) and fixes a few bugs. Randell's original port
  13. first appeared on AmigaLibDisk #448.
  14.  
  15. I am surprised only a small number of developers have discovered this
  16. gem yet. It's the perfect tool to keep track of large development projects,
  17. to aid in porting applications and to help `thinning' out existing code
  18. by highlighting which procedures/variables are never going to be used.
  19. In short, it's the single most powerful development tool I have discovered
  20. in recent years.
